Accelerated Marketing Partners Sells 30 Units in One Hour, Netting Nearly $10 Million. 


Alexandria, VA (November 6, 2007) – Accelerated Marketing Partners successfully auctioned nearly $10 million of real estate in one hour on Oct. 28 for Mid-City Urban LLC and Recap Partners’ Parkside at Alexandria community. The first real estate auction in the Washington, DC-area, the event sold 30 homes in the community.

“Our marketing strategy created the perfect buying environment for a successful real estate auction,” said Jon Gollinger, east coast CEO of Accelerated Marketing Partners, a national, full-service real estate marketing firm specializing in conventional and accelerated programs. “The event released the paralysis that previously existed in the Alexandria market, and buyers were freed up to bid up to their maximum potential.”

Accelerated Marketing Partners auctioned 30 homes at the 378-unit Parkside at Alexandria community at 2:00 p.m. at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center Hotel, 5000 Seminary Rd., Alexandria, Va. 22311. The auction secured more than 200 registered bidders, and Accelerated Marketing Partners conducted a practice session the prior evening, when potential buyers learned how to bid and were taught the relationship between the auctioneer and the prospective buyer. All prospective bidders were required to register at the auction information center, which opened Oct. 4, inspect homes and provide deposits before bidding at the auction.

“This was an extremely well-executed sale, and we are thrilled with the market’s verdict of value,” said Jan Silverman, director of sales and marketing for Mid-City Urban, LLC. “We would do this again.”

The community was originally developed in the 1960s by Charles E. Smith and the Dunton family as Jamestown Village Apartments, and the community was acquired in 2005 by Parkside at Alexandria, LLC. The Parkside at Alexandria offers rare townhouse-style one- and two-bedroom luxury homes, with community amenities such as a resort-style swimming pool with bathhouse, landscaped courtyards and free daily shuttle van service to the Pentagon City Metro station, just 10 minutes away.

Parkside at Alexandria is situated just off North Van Dorn Street, with easy access to I-395 and minutes from downtown Washington, Old Town Alexandria, Metrorail, the Beltway, and Reagan National Airport.
